Belarusian foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said that the Belarusian authorities will be forced to take adequate measures to respond to threats to Belarus ' statehood during the presidential election campaign. This statement was made during a telephone conversation between Vladimir Makei and his Lithuanian counterpart Linas Linkevicius.

"As part of the discussion of election issues, Makei stressed that the Belarusian leadership is interested in ensuring a smooth course of the election campaign without any outside interference," the Belarusian foreign Ministry said in a statement. "He drew attention to the fact that all actions within the country will be evaluated and considered exclusively through the prism of compliance with national legislation."

According to Vladimir Makei, at the same time, the Belarusian authorities "will be forced to take adequate response measures in the event of a threat to the statehood of Belarus."

The Ministers also touched upon the construction of the Belarusian NPP. According to Makei, Belarus, as the country most affected by the Chernobyl disaster, proceeds from ensuring maximum safety of the station and is ready to continue cooperation on this issue with competent international organizations. "The European Commission and the member States of the European Union have been notified of this," the report says.

Linkevicius informed his colleague that taking into account the improvement of the epidemiological situation, air traffic between Belarus and Lithuania is being resumed.

Earlier, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko accused Russia of trying to destabilize the situation before the presidential election. The Belarusian authorities also reported the detention of 33 Russian mercenaries. On Tuesday, Lukashenko announced the transfer of another group of militants to the country.

The President declared an attempt to organize a massacre in the center of Minsk. "Yes, while there is no hot war, they don't shoot, they haven't pulled the trigger yet. But the attempt to organize a massacre in the center of Minsk is already obvious. Billions of dollars of resources have been thrown against Belarus and the latest technologies have been mobilized, " Lukashenko said.
